Jadon Sancho agrees personal terms with Man United, five-year contract: report

Jadon Sancho has been the talk of the town for all lockdown pretty much, with the young Englishman seemingly keen on swapping the Bundesliga for the Premier League.

Manchester United are at the front of that queue, and despite a story we covered from Sky Sports News claiming that the Reds were only willing to spend £50million on Sancho, we’ve been given a hugely positive update over the last 24 hours.

The story comes from Ian McGarry, who was speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast alongside Duncan Castles. McGarry goes big and claims that personal terms have been agreed with United and Sancho, on a five-year deal.

Apparently, the deal has been agreed to ‘in principle’ with the superstar 20-year-old, who will earn an initial £140,000-a-week, potentially rising to £200,000-a-week at Old Trafford – should the deal go through of course…

Obviously, now it’s about sorting out a deal with Dortmund which always felt like the problem. Due to COVID-19, there’s far less money going to be available to everyone this summer, which is going to hugely impact transfers.

Dortmund, understandably, aren’t going to want to lose their prized asset on a cut-price deal. However, with Sancho’s contract winding down, the Bundesliga outfit have somewhat cornered themselves…

I’d like to think that United and Dortmund can reach some common ground here. I get the impression that Sancho has had enough over in Germany and wants to come ‘home’ to England. The Theatre of Dreams feels like the perfect destination.

Hopefully, a deal will happen at some point.
