Protest in Ondo as motorist kills three okada operators

PROTEST yesterday greeted the death of three motorcycle operators popularly called Ojada riders who were knocked down on Thursday night in Okitipupa area of Ondo state by a motorist.



The driver of the bus that killed them fled immediately the accident occurred to avoid being lynched while the bus was set ablaze

The okada operators, in their hundreds took to the streets of Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State singing solidarity songs and barricaded the major streets in the town to show their displeasure over the death of their colleagues

Saturday Vanguard gathered that the three persons were knocked down by a yet to be identified motorist beside the Ondo State General Hospital Okitipupa.

An eyewitness said that the unidentified man drove a Toyota Picnic bus and was heading towards the hospital when he knocked down the three men who were on a motorcycle.

The trio reportedly died instantly.
