'I secretly hate it': Brides reveal how they REALLY feel about their ‘ugly’ engagement rings in very candid confessions (and it turns out size does matter)

Growing up, lots of little girls dream about the moment their future husband gets down on one knee - preferably while holding a sizeable diamond.   

But it seems that when the big moment arrives, the reality doesn't always live up to that fantasy rock.   

Confessions shared by women around the world on the anonymous Whisper app feature their very frank assessments of their engagement rings - including many from brides who admit to secretly hating their sparklers.

One woman revealed her mother told her she was sorry about her 'basic' ring, while another said she was 'embarrassed' to wear hers.

And while many understandably conceal their true feelings from their fiances, one bride to be was so horrified she blurted out 'I hate it' at the big moment.
