The Academic Staff Union of
Universities, ASUU and the Federal Government have reached an agreement that
may lead to the lecturers calling off their industrial action.
This was the outcome of the meeting between ASUU
and the federal government which ended in the early hour of today.
Both parties agreed that government would
immediately commence payment of salary shortfalls as well as the quarterly
revitalization funds for universities.
ASUU is to communicate decisions to its National
Executive Council and revert to government within one week with a view to
calling off the strike.
More coming shortly…….
